The talk surrounding Windows 11 system requirements is far from over, despite Microsoft publishing an extended blog post to explain why exactly it needs newer computers to become the only ones running its upcoming operating-system.
But on the other hand, users who turned to the Feedback Hub don't accept Microsoft's approach, explaining in a discussion which has already received over 8,000 upvotes and 600 comments that Windows 11 can run on older configurations all right.
"My 6th Gen i5 6500 checks all of the right boxes except the CPU. That is total garbage. Not one problem with Windows 11 on the Dev channel. Utter nonsense when 4 gigs of RAM on Windows 10 is a joke. The number of 8th Gen CPU's run 1 GHz?" one user explains.
Microsoft says it updated system requirements specifically to enhance the security, compatibility, and toughness for the operating system, explaining it collected feedback in the Windows Insider program and determined the probability of fatal errors is much hardware when using old hardware.
Windows 11 is nearly here
But users said around the Feedback Hub the existing preview builds shipped included in the Insider program are running all right even if their computers don't meet the requirements that Microsoft has officially released.
"4th gen CPU may not have TPM. But they are quite strong CPUs. My system is running Windows 11 near to flawless," someone says. "I have a custom build PC with Intel Core i5-7400 also it ticks all the boxes of requirement (like TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, etc.) for Windows 11 aside from processor generation. My PC continues to be running Windows 11 Beta flawlessly for a couple of months now," another person says.
Windows 11 is projected to produce in October, and obviously, you will find almost no chances to see the machine requirements updated again.
